My name is Kim and I live in Somerset in the UK. You'll find lots of inspiration here today from Stampin' Up! demonstrators and papercrafters from Australia, Canada, USA and the UK!
I'll put my hands up, watercolouring is certainly not my forte. It's a skill to be worked on and improved for sure.
That's not to say I didn't enjoy experimenting with my Water Painters and reinkers!
You may be wondering where the watercolouring is on this card? If you look closely you'll see the watercolouring on the die cut leaves....
The intention was to create a watercolour background but I just wasn't happy with it so instead I die cut the foliage from it instead.
The results are softly coloured leaves with a subtle depth - it's much clearer in person but I've done my best to capture this in my photography.
Regular followers of my blog will know that Seaside Spray is one of my favourite colours. I'll be devastated when this colours goes at the end of April, so expect it to be used a lot more between now and then. You could say I was just a little bit pleased to see it feature in more than one of the Designer Series Papers that are available in the new Mini Catalogue.
For this card I've created my own patterned paper using the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks and my Sponge Brayer. I started by applying Misty Moonlight to the centre in a horizontal direction and then added Seaside Spray to the top and the bottom, blending it into the Misty Moonlight.
The Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper has retired today but hopefully you managed to get some before it was gone. I added Adhesive Foam Sheets to the back of it and die cut 'HEY' using the Playful Alphabet dies.

My first project of the year are these two cards that I have created for Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights!

I've selected patterned paper with muted colours so that these cards could be suitable for those who perhaps don't like pastel or bright colours
My first card predominantly features the colour Gray Granite. The card base has been completely covered with Peony Garden Designer Series Paper - there is a feint pattern to it (you'll see it better in the image below).
I have added a circle (die cut from the Stitched Shape dies) fron another pattern from the same pack of DSP - the background colour is white and it has a floral pattern in Gray Granite. Underneath it is a Scalloped Circle (die cut from the Layering Circles dies) in Gray Granite.
I've added die cuts from the Forever Flourishing dies directly onto the circle. I've used Gray Granite, Whisper White and Vellum Cardstock for a nice mix of neutral colours and texture.
The sentiment is from the Prized Peony stamp set.
My second card features the colour Basic Gray. Like mt first card, the card base has been completely covered with Peony Garden DSP.
The stitched circle has a floral pattern with a background in white and Basic Gray flowers, underneath is a Scalloped Circle in Basic Gray.
For this card, I've used Basic Gray, Whisper White and Vellum Cardstock for the die cuts.
I picked up my pack of embellishments, whilst there are so many great options, the gold Gilded Gems were the perfect choice on this occasion.
The combination of grey and gold is just stunning, I'm so pleased Stampin' Up! added these to their embellishment offering as we were missing a metallic gold gem.
I've realised I'm fast developing a signature for my card designs. All of my cards have either a glossy, shiny or sparkly element. I just can't help it - it makes me happy!

I do love a bit of shimmer and sparkle so I've been playing with Stampin' Up! products and have used a new technique to come up with a pearlescent background with a hint of colour.
I usually try and stick to a bundle when creating my cards but today I've mixed it up.
I literally painted the colour onto Whisper White cardstock. To do this I mixed some of the Frost White Shimmer Paint with Seaside Spray.
The Seaside Spray ink refill will soon be available in the UK but I didn't let the fact I didn't have it stop me. I literally pressed my ink pad onto a teflon sheet and then added the Shimmer Paint to it and mixed it with a paintbrush.
I loved the effect I created but I wanted to take it further so I embossed the painted cardstock when it was fully dry with the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder.
As I always say, it can be difficult to capture in photographs the shimmer in my projects but I think it shows well in my photos. It's so beautiful - although a little extravagant . It certainly wouldn't be cost effective creating lots of these!
Using the Rectangle Stitched dies I die cut two rectangles and positioned these on my card using Dimensionals.
I die cut two leaves from the Forever Flourishing dies and glued them into position.
I then decided to then apply the White Shimmer Paint lightly over the leaves (although I now wish I did this before I adhered them - however, it was an afterthought ). I love white on white but I felt it needed a little extra something.
Next I cut a piece of vellum to fit underneath it and layered it onto my card using Mini Dimensionals carefully positioned underneath, so they couldn't be seen.
For the final touch I added two Clear Epoxy Droplets, into the centre of the diamonds. I lightly coloured them with Seaside Spray Blends but the effect is very subtle.
I know lots of people suggest using odd numbers when applying embellishments but I honestly think even numbers are okay when used in this way! I hope you agree?

I'm creating with my favourite Stampin Up! In Colour again!
I just can't stop using Seaside Spray (I do try) but I naturally gravitate back to it.
I created this card with this sketch in mind. I've been thinking about using the ribbon as a background for a while so I created a panel of strips which I adhered to the card using double sided tape.
I stamps some leaves from the ever so popular Forever Fern stamp set in Seaside Spray and Crumb Cake. I chose Crumb Cake to tie in with the colours of the ribbon.
I stamped the hello sentiment and punched it out with the Classic Label punch and then added the Scalloped Linen ribbon underneath.
I had a good reason to use Seaside Spray again though - I've only got the Scalloped Linen Ribbon in this colour and I wanted the ribbon to be the main feature on my card.

I was recently set a task by my upline to create a sketch challenge for the local team of demos I am part of, so I quickly put this graphic together.

I used the Forever Flourishing dies, which perfectly die cut the leaves out. I don't mind fussy cutting but coordinating dies just make crafting so much easier!

I dry embossed the scalloped oval using the Subtles embossing folder to give it some texture before adhering the white oval panel on top. I attached this to my card with some dimensionals before adding the die cut leaves.
I stamped the hello sentiment and punched it out with the Classic Label punch and then added the Scalloped Linen ribbon underneath.
The final element is some Linen Thread, tied in a loose bow.

Oh my goodness, I've been so busy this week!
This weekend, Michelle Last is holding a virtual craft event for the Pinkies Stampin' Up! team of demonstrators. We would usually attend in person at a venue in Birmingham (and we would have SO much fun together) however, due to Coronavirus this cannot be possible so we are attending online instead!
Michelle has two days of crafting and fun planned. I know I have lot's of surprises still to come as I am one of the demos who has not opened their retreat box yet. I can't wait to see what we've got in there!
There are 78 demonstrators attending. I'm so excited, I cannot wait to show them the project I have created for one of our 'make and takes'.
I've been working really hard on the creative process from designing the project through to filming a video tutorial. This takes a bit longer for me as I do not have that much experience having only filmed one video and only held two workshops.
Whilst I'd love to share this project with my blog readers too, I am unable to as it has been designed exclusively for the demonstrators attending. So why don't you become a demonstrator and join my team? You would really enjoy the social events and exclusive papercraft projects!
I actually really enjoyed creating my video, so you will be pleased to know that I have set myself a goal to film at least one video per month to accompany my blog posts! Watch this space!

Today's cards feature the Forever Fern stamp set and coordinating Forever Flourishing dies. I have used a watercolour technique for both cards! I am no expect on watercolouring however, I occasionally have a dabble!
For the card above I have used Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper (with some water applied with my water painter). I created an ombre effect with 3 different inks - Seaside Spray, Mist Moonlight and Night of Navy. Admittedly, you can't see the Misty Moonlight very well but I assure you, it is there!
I've used Shimmery White cardstock for the watercolouring on this card. Shimmery White cardstock is perfect for watercolouring too. I absolutely love the subtle sparkle the cardstock has - I use it a lot at Christmas. I absolutely must remember to stock up on it on my next order!
To achieve the watercolouring on this card, I used my water painter to apply a layer of water to one of the clear blocks I use to attach to my cling and photopolymer stamps. I added a few tiny drops of Pool Party ink and swished it around the block with my water painter. Next I placed the block directly onto the cardstock, waited a few seconds and then I turned the block around 180 degrees and placed it onto the cardstock again. I love the random pattern it created!
I had to wait for both pieces to dry and found it they had become quite warped (if you have a tip to get around this - please share!) I actually gave them an iron to try and straighten the cardstock, I used a teflon sheet to protect the card.
All of the products I have used to create these cards can be found listed when you click on the small images of these cards at the end of this post. However, before you go, I've have just got to mention the new Pool Party Sheer Ribbon that I've used. OMG it is so beautiful!! Okay, I may be biased as Pool Party is my favourite Stampin' Up! colour, but you just have to see it! It's so delicate and shimmery!
Stampin' Up!, if you are reading this (unlikely, but possible) please please please release this ribbon in other colours!

Hello! CAS(E) this Sketch #376 feat. the Flourishing Fern Bundle from Stampin' Up!

Hello! If you are visiting my blog for the first time, welcome! Today I am playing along with another sketch challenge from CAS(E) this Sketch #376!
I thoroughly enjoyed creating these cards using brand new stamps and dies!! I love this sketch too, I especially like having lots of white space on a card. It's fantastic the design team provide this "clean and simple card challenge" to allow me to do that!
The detail on the new Forever Fern stamps and coordinating Forever Flourishing dies is incredible. Did you know Stampin' Up! have several 'distinktive' stamps in their range?
Stampin' Up! describe distinktive stamps like this:
"Add monochromatic dimension and artistic flair to your stamping... Distinktive stamps create different opacities in a single stamped image for realistic depth and intensity.
It really is true, can you see the detail coming through in the images on my card?
I've used two new embossing folders for the base of my cards - Dainty Diamonds and Tasteful Textiles. I love them both but Dainty Diamonds is my favourite!
Alongside the stamped elements, I've added some vellum and foil leaves - silver foil on the blue version and champagne foil on pink card.
You may recall me saying that sometimes I create my cards backwards. By that I mean I start with something small (not always the main focus of the card) and build my design around that. In this case I started with the ribbon!
But can you actually see the ribbon? It's layered behind the 'Hello' sentiment. You can just see the edging peeking through. The ribbon colours I've used are Seaside Spay and Rococo Rose, both from the 2019-21 In Colours.
These graphics show the colour combination I've used in my card - both have the colour grey as the neutral element, the main focus 'in colour' - pink or blue and a coordinating darker colour for contrast.
I've used the Flowers for Every Season twine from the Combo Pack. It consists of two pieces of twine (white and blue) and silver metallic twine twisted together. I unwound all three elements from each other and omitted the blue part. I then tied a dainty bow with the remaining white and silver pieces. It's such a lovely delicate look. I hope you can see this detail in my photos!
